In the continuously evolving world of centralised refrigeration, the compressor rack remains the heart of the system, and its evolution is continuously driven by the need for efficiency and compliance with regulations. The rack controller follows the same path, with a never-ending drive toward innovation. Built on the long-lasting heritage of the pRack300 family, the new embodiment of CAREL’s rack controller- the new pRack - is a step forward in rack management, while retaining all the reliable logic that the CAREL controller was renowned for.

The two main innovations involve:

• upgraded product architecture;

• enhanced connectivity.

Both are mainly focused on providing a simple way to deliver intelligence and data exactly where they are needed. 

Modular product architecture

The latest embodiment of CAREL’s pRack family is built around a simple concept: all the intelligence required by your system, with only the I/Os needed to operate. I/O modularity is achieved through the combination of a main board, available in 3 HW sizes, coupled with a series of accessories, either valve drivers or I/O expansions. This offers users the possibility to build their own rack architecture, scalable with the addition of options, reflecting the real needs of the final installation.

Enhanced connectivity

The availability of data is a fundamental aspect in modern refrigeration. Remote control, maintenance: the possibility to interact with the controller via a remote connection is essential to simplify how the system is managed.

The new pRack offers different ways to make relevant data available at the right moment to the right system.

Compatibility with Red enterprise solution is retained in this new evolution, alongside the possibility to connect to CAREL boss supervisors, both the older and newer versions.

Moreover, as already featured in the pRack300 generation, the new pRack offers a direct Ethernet connection, making it possible to access the controller via remote with Applica Desktop, CAREL's commissioning tool, or via the controller’s web server, making the operation as simple and intuitive as possible.

The new pRack is more than just a controller, it’s a flexible and complete solution for managing compressor racks. Scalable and easy-to-use while remaining complete, the new pRack can fulfil all installation requirements . The new pRack proposal comprises a standard version, for HFC/HFO and CO₂ subcritical systems, a transcritical version, and a new universal version, able to manage all the above systems. The New pRack will be premièred at the Euroshop trade show.
